The Darkest Bird – Marjan Djarmati

Screen printed artist book by art brut artist Marjan Đarmati from Žitište, Serbia. “The Darkest Bird” is a collection of Djarmati’s very carefully carved ball point pen drawings where the motive is finding it’s own way into this world through hours and hours of letting the pen dance freely over the paper.

Marjan Đarmati is a member of the association Art Brut Serbia. He started drawing after an accident when he froze his hands. The Doctors told him he should be prepared to lose them. Ironically enough that gave him an unstoppable lust to draw. Marjan creates cosmic works with infinite depth with the simplest materials possible – ball point pens and plants.
