Den Längsta Natten – Dav Guedin

Vampire pussy screenprint by Dav Guedin for the festival Den Längsta Natten 2024. Dav visited Gothenburg at the darkest time of the year and survived. His art was shown alongside many other giants at the retrospective exhibition “Det sista skriket” of Le Dernier Cri at Röda Sten Konsthall. 

The longest night is the most creative night, a night without end, a night without deadlines, there is infinite time, time does not exist, we continue as long as the body can bear it and the ideas dance. The longest night is our birthday, the most important holiday of the year, the coldest week of the year, the most expensive electricity price of the year, the most stressful yuletide. We promise an alternative universe, a parallel reality. We begin to long for ground zero as we have always longed for spring, the light, the flowers. Now we gravitate towards darkness.
