Screen printed graphic, white ink on black paper, after a monoprint by Nanna Anna & Oliver Maarup. Oliver and Nanna are two young printers from Copenhagen, they draw smooth on hand with shadow and light, free hand now or nevers, folk tale happiness and the joy of turning ordinary things into vibrating totems. This image comes from a series of monotypes created in tandem during a studio experiment where the two artists started copying each other until no one could tell the original from the copy. The mirror-drawings are collected in their newly released book “Nemesis” published by Spektakel Press in 2025. We have a few precious copies of that too – let us know if you need one!
The graphic was printed for the artists’ exhibition Når mørkret falder – When darkness falls at Longest Night during Den Längsta Natten Festival 2025. This is the first of two prints published together, see the second one here.
